Introduction to Table Loom Weaving Workshop, Southsea, Hampshire — Two-Day Workshop
Discover the Structure & Rhythm of Handwoven Cloth
A two-day table loom weaving workshop for beginners, 10 a.m.–4 p.m. each day, held at Seeded, the Aladdin’s cave of creativity in Southsea, Hampshire.
Table looms are used to create fine handwoven cloth — from scarves and tea towels to lengths of fabric for fashion and interiors. Because setting up and weaving on a table loom is more complex than frame weaving, this workshop takes place over two full days, allowing plenty of time to learn, experiment, and weave at your own pace.
What’s Included
-
Two full days of guided tuition with Ellie Fisher, an experienced weaver with over 20 years’ experience
-
Use of looms, tools and all materials, including natural yarns and fibres (organic cotton, bamboo, flax and hemp)
-
Comprehensive printed handouts to support your learning and take home
-
Tea, coffee and biscuits available throughout both days
Spaces are limited to a maximum of four participants to ensure plenty of individual guidance. Suitable for complete beginners or those wanting a refresher in structured weaving techniques.
What to Expect
This is an in-depth, hands-on workshop covering both the technical and creative aspects of weaving. It’s detailed, practical, and supported by clear notes you can take home.

How to plan and make a warp

Winding your warp onto the loom and threading it up

Please be aware that everyone learns at a different pace — something you find simple, another may find challenging, and vice versa. You’ll be encouraged to support each other while working at your own speed.
By the end of the two days, you’ll take home a series of woven samples.
