6 hour Intermediate Frame Loom Weaving Workshop at Julia Davey in Bath: Saturday 2nd November 2019 (PLEASE BOOK THROUGH THE JULIA DAVEY WEBSITE, LINK IN DESCRIPTION)
The workshop price includes a day of guided tuition, use of the looms and all materials including yarns and a selection of fibres including organic cotton, bamboo, flax and hemp.
You will be given your own clear workshop handouts to take away with you.
Tea, coffee, herbal tea and biscuits (GF and vegan) will be available all day.
WHAT TO EXPECT
The workshop will guide you through various weaving techniques including creating pictures and shapes, how to link shapes together, adding fringing (tassels) in patterns, braiding (soumak), finishing techniques and more.
Spaces are limited to six people to ensure you receive as much guidance as you need.
This workshop is suitable for people who have attended my 'Introduction to Frame Loom Weaving' workshop and for those that have basic skills who would like to expand their knowledge.
You will have the opportunity to buy your loom at the the end of the workshop for £20.
I like to work with as many sustainable materials as possible and, where possible, I try to source end of line and second hand materials that would otherwise go to waste.
There will be a wide selection of materials available to you ranging from banana, hemp, linen, paper, cotton and recycled yarn to rose, mint, bamboo and flax fibres.
WHAT TO BRING
I will provide hot drinks and cake but please bring your lunch with you.
You will be provided with all the materials you will need for the workshop however if you have any material at home that you would like to experiment with then please feel free to bring them along.
PARKING & ARRIVAL
Please arrive a few minutes early to ensure you have time to park and to grab a cuppa before the workshop begins.
I look forward to meeting you soon but if you have any questions beforehand, please feel free to contact me.
