Introduction to Frame Loom Weaving at Julia Davey in Bath: Saturday 8th December
I am delighted to have teamed up with Julia Davey at her beautiful premises in Bath to offer two workshops on the 8th December. There will be one workshop in the morning between 10am-1pm, and one in the afternoon between 2.30pm-5.50pm.
To book onto one of these workshops, please book through the Julia Davey Website by clicking the 'Book Workshop' link below.
The course price includes 3 hours of guided tuition, use of the looms and all materials including yarns and a selection of fibres including organic cotton, bamboo, flax and hemp.
You will be given your own clear workshop handouts to take away with you.
Tea, coffee, herbal tea and home baked cake (gluten free & vegan) will be provided.
WHAT TO EXPECT
The workshop will teach you the basic principles and terminology of weaving and you will create a small woven piece using a frame loom.
Spaces are limited to ensure you receive as much guidance as you need.
This workshop is suitable for complete beginners and those that have a little experience and would like a refresher.
You will have the opportunity to buy your loom for £20 at the the end of the workshop.
I like to work with as many sustainable materials as possible and, where possible, I try to source end of line and second hand materials that would otherwise go to waste.
There will be a wide selection of materials available to you ranging from banana, hemp, linen, paper, cotton and recycled yarn to rose, mint, bamboo and flax fibres.
You will be provided with all the materials you will need for the workshop however if you have any material at home that you would like to experiment with then please feel free to bring them along.
